An AFRICAN, Yes. .I am!

I may be black
My heart is not dark,
My nose may be flat
My mind is not daft,
I may not appear as white
Yet, I've got the light.
History says I am the origin
Yes, the real 'aborigine',
Nothing is wrong with my gene,
Unique always, my being,
Story says I am the Source
Yes, the edifice with all resource,
Nature favours me with Grace,
Mother earth distinguishes my Race,
Strength I've got for ace
Length of days as I pace to blaze.
I may be bedevilled
With few challenges
I'm coming out refined
'Cos I've got connection divine!
They were the past
Never meant to last,
I am the future
With big bold stature
I've got a great portion
to function
among all creation,
Don't mistake me for anyone
Nor call me like everyone
I am an African
With the big bold Can.
- Ola - sun - kan - mi is my name!
And Africa, my fame!!
